Why You Need To Explore the Wiggly Bridge Distillery

wiggly bridge distilleryFamily-made, handcrafted goods of any kind tend to possess something special about them that big companies can’t produce. That sentence might bring to mind things like furniture, artwork and food, but at Wiggly Bridge Distillery, it means whisky – and good whisky at that. Run by a father and duo who have a taste for good spirits, Wiggly Bridge Distillery provides York and the surrounding area with some of the finest small-batch whisky and rum around.

The Wiggly Bridge Distillery

According to Wiggly Bridge’s website, the distillery was started as a hobby, and with time, grew into a business. David Woods and his son also named David, use sour mash recipes and a handmade copper still to produce a variety of fine alcoholic beverages.

Spirits

Wiggly Bridge produces six great spirits: White Whisky, White Rum, Small Barrel Bourbon, Small Barrel Rum, Vodka, and Gin. Every ounce of these drinks is handmade by the Woods family in small batches. Drinks like the White Whisky and Small Barrel Bourbon are award-winning, further solidifying the quality of the distillery’s products. Plus, you can find great drink recipes on Wiggly Bridge’s website, like the York & Stormy (and bourbon and ginger ale concoction), or the Bridge Bloody, their take on a Bloody Mary, made with the distillery’s White Whisky!

Tours

It’s one thing to read about whisky and rum, but seeing the production process and tasting it for yourself is completely different (and a lot more fun!) the distillery offers tours daily at their new Route 1 location. Their 90-minute tours are offered daily, and in addition to receiving a housemade cocktail, you’ll learn the ins and outs of whisky, how their spirits are distilled, and more! Tours are available for $12.95 per person, and tour participants must be at least 21 years old. Tour availability, details and more can be found on their website.
